Change is a great thing

“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”
Barack Obama

Love this. This is a nice variation of Keith’s other favorite quotation- “Be the change you wish to see in the world”- Ghandi

Although I posted about the big day yesterday, I was careful not to share my thoughts. So I shall share them here.

I am happy, hopeful and believe that great things can happen. Not just because of the man, but because we as a country are ready for it. It’s time. We have been in pain for too long. The healing needs to begin. And it begins when we look at one another through the eyes of love.

January 20, 2009 was a day where people saw a nation come back together. How many people actually watched any of the inaugaration without tears? Those tears were of Hope. They were of Joy. They were the promise of good things to happen. President Obama is leading us, but those changes can not happen unless we all make the change in ourselves.

That internal change is both infectious and magnetic. Meaning, it spreads to others AND attracts others to you. You’ll be amazed at the quality of people in your life when you CHOOSE to make that change.

You can not change your outside perceptions without first changing your internal reality.

If you need help, ask. If you are already there, share. We need to ride this boat together or sink trying. Hop on board, there’s plenty of room for you.

One love.

Be connected-

Terry Bean

Oh, man, lay off the Kool-Aid. Your guy won, and you have a right to cheer. But we did not “come back together.” The rest of us are not cheering, because the “change” Obama seeks would be extremely damaging.

In any event, the cosmic significance is a bit hard to swallow. Life goes on either way. Sounds like somebody needs to get one.

We came together on the day that this note was written…5 months ago. Sadly it didn’t take hold or last like it could have. Politics is Politics. If you really read my post, you would note that it was far more about us than any one man.

I still remain optimistic that we will come together and stay together as the race that we all are…human. I believe in it and I believe in us, just like I believe in you.

If your last line is suggesting that I need to get a life, I shall leave you with the thought that I am not the one reading and responding to blog posts that are 5 months old. Just a thought 😉

My favorite Kool Aid flavor is grape for the record. How about yours?
